| I am actually quite proud of this picture and the one of the jellyfish. Emily and I went to the aquarium here in Berlin. I should have brought my SLR this day but I only had the rangefinder with me. That meant, no light meter and no auto-focus in a place were light was very scarce and difficult to predict. I had to go to the limit of what I can do with this camera, shooting at very slow shutter speeds with the aperture wide open. And with an open aperture comes a very narrow field of depth so precise focusing was crucial. Now, focusing my old Kodak Retina in low light is no joy and the outcome depends on a good deal of luck. So I am quite proud to have brought home two keepers that are worth showing. |
